During the Cello Biënnale, a Cello Yurt can be found on the terrace of the Muziekgebouw. A traditional, intimate round tent such as the ones used by travelling nomads in Central Asia. 

Together with kamancheh player and audiovisual artist Soheil Shayesteh, Maya Fridman creates an hour-long programme for cello, voice and kamancheh. With the combination of their instruments and the addition of live electronics and audio reactive visuals, Soheil and Maya create their own sonic universe. The two artists approach their performance as a journey in which they subtly connect their compositions and improvisations inspired by Persian traditional music.
