About the Cello Biennale

The Cello Biennale Amsterdam is a ten-day international music festival focusing on everything cello-related. With over a hundred events taking place in every nook and cranny of the BIMHUIS and the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, the Cello Biennale Amsterdam is the place-to-be and a source of inspiration for cellists and music lovers from around the world.

From early morning (Bach&Breakfast) throughout the evening (CELLOFEST) to late at night. And all genres too – classical, contemporary, jazz, pop, rock, improvisation, electro and from countless multicultural backgrounds.

It’s a stage for famous top Dutch and international musicians, ensembles and orchestras alike. You’ll get to hear, see, and meet big names, old favourites, and new faces at every new edition.
