Annie Tångberg

Cello

Annie Tångberg studied musicology at the University of Oslo and cello and pedagogy at the Barratt-Due Conservatory. In 1995 she left for the Netherlands where she obtained her master’s in chamber music at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Annie is something of a musical omnivore, as evidenced by the diversity of the groups in which she plays: the Metropole Orchestra, the Sonja van Hamel Band, Elastic Jargon, the West Side Trio, Duo Percucello, Trio Hoorncomfort, and of course Metrocelli. She has provided the music for various silent films on several occasions at the Eye Film Museum, and she also regularly composes new music. Annie plays on an English cello, built around 1840, made available by the National Musical Instruments Fund.
