In three workshops leading up to the festival, conservatoire students work with the cellists of the Metropole Orchestra, Emile Visser and Annie Tångberg, on improvisation techniques, playing and reacting to (jazz) chord progressions, and arranging jazz standard for cello ensemble. During the Biënnale, CELLOFEST-cellists Éric-Maria Couturier and Vincent Courtois give lessons to the participants as guest teachers. And the French improvisation geniuses even join in for the closing jam session!
