Christian Bakanic
Accordion
Christian Bakanic (Austria, 1980) studied folk music and accordeon at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz with Janne Rättyä, James Crabb, and Geir Draugsvoll. He has won various accordion competitions and is a champion of the continuous innovation of accordeon technique, playing every possible genre in which the accordion can be heard. Bakanic plays classical music, jazz, Tango Nuevo, and new compositions including his own work.
He is a part of various ensembles, one of which is a duo with cellist Marie Spaemann.
