Alexei Grynyuk

Alexei Grynyuk (Kyiv, Ukraine) was only six years old when he gave his first public concerts. When he was thirteen, he drew attention to himself by winning the Sergei Diaghilev Piano Competition in Moscow. During that time, he was already active as a soloist with various Ukrainian orchestras and touring through Eastern Europe. In the following years, Alexei Grynyuk went on to win competitions including the Vladimir Horowitz Competition in Kyiv and the Shanghai International Piano Competition. His professors in Moscow included Natalia Gridneva and Valery Kozlov, and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he studied with Hamish Milne. He regularly gives solo recitals at renowned venues such as Wigmore Hall in London and the Salle Gaveau in Paris. He has been a guest soloist with orchestras including the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra. He forms a duo with Leonard Elschenbroich, with whom he has made several vinyl and CD recordings, including a recording of Johannes Brahms’ two sonatas.
