CvA Symphony Orchestra

Orchestra

The Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Amsterdam has already played an important role during the Biennale several times. The orchestra, conducted by Tan Dun, played in a historic performance of The Map, Tan Dun's multimedia 'cello concerto'. In addition, the Symphony Orchestra has accompanied the three finalists of the National Cello Competition many times. That will be the case this time too. Under the baton of conductor Sander Teepen, the orchestra accompanies the three finalists of the competition in Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto, but also plays a program that includes Kate Moore's new cello concerto.
