BartolomeyBittmann is a duo consisting of cellist Matthias Bartolomey and violinist and mandola player Klemens Bittmann. Together they share a passion for creating new sounds. With their instruments, they tread outside the well-worn paths of classical traditions and find new musical routes together. Their music has the spontaneity of improvisation and jazz, and includes rock elements, intimate ballads, and fast uptempo compositions. Nikolaus Harnoncourt described their playing as “...super komponiert und fabelhaft spielt!” It is not without reason that they are coming to the Cello Biennale for the third time already!
