Reinhard Latzko

Reinhard Latzko (Freising, Germany) one of the leading and most sought-after pedagogues in Europe, and teaches masterclasses across the globe. He studied the cello with Jan Polasek, Martin Ostertag, and Heinrich Schiff. He won prizes at various national and international competitions. From 1987 until 2003, Reinhard Latzko was solo cellist at the SWR- Symphonieorchester Freiburg, and played as soloist for various European orchestras. As of a few years, he is also a successful orchestra coach for, among others, the Ballet Orchestra and Ensemble Resonanz in Hamburg. In 1988 he succeeded Boris Pergamensjikov as cello teacher at the music academy in Basel, where he taught until 2005. As of 2003, he is professor at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.
