Phion

Orchestra

Phion originated from Het Gelders Orkest and Orkest van het Oosten. Both orchestras had a rich history, that Het Gelders Orkest stretching back to 1889(!).

The East of the Netherlands has thus been excellently served for decades by high-level orchestra musicians, with conductors such as Jaap van Zweden, Jan Willem de Vriend, Marin Sieghart, and Ed Spanjaard. Otto Tausk has been chief conductor since 2020.
