Holland Baroque
In this programme, Holland Baroque brings a number of solo concertos never previously published, performed, or recorded: world premieres!
Giovanni Benedetto Platti was the court composer to Johann Philipp Franz von Schönborn, a German earl who collected over one hundred cello concertos and sonatas. After the untimely death of his wife, the duke found comfort and happiness in the cello. There is a true treasure trove of Baroque cello concertos in the archives of his castle. And of course, Vivaldi’s famous Concerto for two Cellos can’t miss in this Italian Baroque programme.
