Florianne Remme

Cello

Florianne Remme (2000, Zutphen) started playing the cello when she was eight. She took her first lessons with Derk Stegeman, then she was taught by Jiri Prchal and Corine 't Hoen and from the age of fifteen she studied with Lucia Swarts at the School for Young Talent at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She is currently studying with Jeroen Reuling at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. Florianne is a prize winner of various competitions and festivals. In 2016 she was a finalist of the Princess Christina Competition and she received prizes during the Peter de Grote Festival (Gasterra Award 2014) and the Festival Verao Classico in Lisbon (Masterclass Award 2019). In 2019 she received a grant from the Herbert Duintjer Fund. Florianne followed masterclasses with Gary Hoffman, Paul Katz, Michel Strauss, Frans Helmerson, and many others during festivals such as the Cello Biennale Amsterdam, Festival Jong Talent Schiermonnikoog, the Emmy Verhey Festival, the Brussels Cello Festival, Saline Royal Academy, and Festival Pablo Casals. In 2020 she was selected for the Young Artist Program of the Yellow Barn Festival in the United States. Florianne has a great passion for chamber music and forms the Audax Piano Trio with Pieternel Tils and Jorian van Nee. They attended masterclasses by Elisabeth Leonskaja, Boris Giltburg, and the Jerusalem Quartet, among others. Florianne plays on a cello built by Thomas Bertrand, which was made available to her by the Strings For Talent fund in Brussels. She has her bow on loan from the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
