Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra belongs to the holiest of the holy works in the classical genre. That’s why it’ll be so enthralling to see and hear Edgar Moreau perform the viola part on cello.

Giovanni Sollima is the type of musician who continually aims to astonish and astound with his latest musical discoveries. This year, he’ll be conjuring up a Gaetano Ciandelli cello concerto that he found during lockdown.

Ciandelli was a Neapolitan cellist and composer (dates of birth and death unknown) as was his son, Gaetano, who was a star pupil of none less than Paganini himself. Sollima will be performing this concerto at this year's Cello Biennale for the first time in more than two hundred years!
