The three finalists of the National Cello Competition 2024 join forces with two jury members of this year’s competition. Thomas Prechal and Ori Ron, the winners of the First and Third prize respectively, made a huge impression with their own compositions in the final round. Plenty of reason to invite them to compose new pieces for themselves and the winner of the Second Prize, Bruno Tobon. The three winners are accompanied by more young talent: the Haydn Youth String Orchestra.

There will be two more soloists from the jury of the competition in 2026. Jan Ype Nota brings songs from Schubert’s Winterreise, about grieving a lost lover, and Monika Leskovar brings David Popper’s Hungarian Rhapsody. The five cellists form a quintet in Glazunov’s Chant du Ménestrel.
