Joost de Boer
Cello
Joost de Boer (2003) began playing the cello at the age of six and is currently studying with Jan Ype Nota and Michel Strauss at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. He has taken masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Quirine Viersen, Zlatomir Fung, Matthijs Broersma and Harro Ruijsenaars. Alongside his studies, Joost is very active in orchestral and chamber music. He has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra since 2025, serving as leader of the cello section. He is also a member of the Silhouet Quartet. With this ensemble, he has taken part in various courses, including the Zeister Muziekdagen. Joost plays a cello from 2023, built by Hein Woldring in Groningen.
