About the Cello Biennale
The Cello Biennale Amsterdam is a ten-day international music festival focusing on everything cello-related. With over a hundred events taking place in every nook and cranny of the BIMHUIS and the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, the Cello Biennale Amsterdam is the place-to-be and a source of inspiration for cellists and music lovers from around the world.
From early morning (Bach&Breakfast) throughout the evening (CELLOFEST) to late at night. And all genres too – classical, contemporary, jazz, pop, rock, improvisation, electro and from countless multicultural backgrounds.
It’s a stage for famous top Dutch and international musicians, ensembles and orchestras alike. You’ll get to hear, see, and meet big names, old favourites, and new faces at every new edition.
The Cello Moves!
The theme of this ninth Cello Biennale is ‘The Cello Moves’. From 20 to 29 October 2022, we’re staging a programme packed with new productions in which dance, movement, emotion and space play a central role.
