Orchestre Partout

Ensemble

Driven by the belief that music is a universal language that connects people, Orchestre Partout has been making music with newcomers and Dutch musicians since 2010. Orchestre Partout offers workshops and concerts aimed at beginners as well as professionals.

Orchestre Partout offers (young) adult asylum-seeker-centre residents a year-round programme with weekly music lessons and rehearsals in six asylum-seeker centres spread across the country. Anyone can participate, regardless of their experience or talent. The weekly activities are led by professional musicians and peer educators. Participants are loaned an instrument, contribute their favourite songs from their own culture, and accompany each other. At each centre, participants form a band that performs regularly.

Talented musicians deepen their musical skills by making music in various formations and learning from each other. Improvisation is the key to coming up with new musical material and to intuitively create connections between musical traditions and cultures.
