Léo Jassaf

Piano

Léo Jassef began playing the piano when he was four years old. After his education in classical piano, contemporary composition, electro-acoustic composition, and conducting, he went on to study jazz as well as improvisation at the CNSM in Paris.

At the same time, he founded the Trio à Lunettes, in which he combines free improvisation with his own compositions, and was one of the accompanying musicians of the Tricollectif (where he regularly collaborated with violinist Théo Ceccaldi).

After that, he turned his focus to contemporary music. Together with clarinettist Yom, he worked on various projects, including a number of albums, and on the multi-disciplinary project Baby Doll (directed by Marie-Ève Signeyrole, with the Orchestre de chambre de Paris) and the creation of the performance Inner with dancer and choreographer Johanna Faye. He is currently the pianist of Nesrine’s trio.
