François Salque, a graduate of Yale University and the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP), won prizes at competitions (Geneva, Tchaikovsky, Munich, Rostropovich) from a young age. His concerts have brought him to more than sixty countries and his recordings as a soloist and as a chamber musician with Eric Le Sage, Alexandre Tharaud, Emmanuel Pahud, and Vincent Peirani have received critical acclaim (including Diapasons d’Or of the Year, Palme d’Or from the BBC).
François Salque was the cellist of the Ysaÿe Quartet for five years, with which he released seven successful albums. He has a particular affinity for contemporary music, and has premiered compositions by contemporary composers. He currently holds professorships at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU) and at the Conservatoire de Paris.
