Christopher Loy is a cellist and multidisciplinary artist, based in Berlin. After his Time-based Media Art degree at the Hochschule für bildende Kunste Hamburg, he studied cello at the Universität der Kunste Berlin with Eva Freitag. In 2023, he was selected to the Berlin Music Commission’s Music Ambassador Program, allowing him to do a residency with Darren J. Cunningham (also known as Actress). He was also a part of the ensemble in Ari Benjamin Meyers’ project Kunsthalle for Music at the Museum Abteiberg (2024). In his most recent work, he brought an eight-hour-long performance, including an interactive sculpture and video installation, with guest performances of internationally renowned musicians and performers.
