Application Cello and Bow Makers 2026

After our 10th anniversary, the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam returns this year for its 11th edition!
Instrument makers have been inseparably connected to the Biënnale from the very beginning.
From Thursday 29 October to Saturday 7 November 2026, a packed programme featuring international cellists, ensembles, and major orchestras will once again be presented and heard from early morning until late at night.

Registration for stands & advertisements
We offer you the opportunity to reserve a stall at the Foyerdeck (1st floor). As in previous editions, stall spaces are offered in exchange for a modest contribution to the Biennale. This year, the system works slightly differently than before. Purchasing an advertisement is now separate from booking a market stall.

For €100 per day, you can rent a stall. The minimum booking is 3 days, and the maximum amount you pay is €500. This includes:

  • A table at the market
  • Listing on the website and festival app with a photo, biography, and link to your own website
  • Lunch and two drinks
  • Participation with an instrument in De Vergelijking on 1, 3, or 7 November

In addition, it is possible to place an advertisement in our festival programme booklet. For cello and bow makers, a reduced rate applies.

Specifications for advertisements can be found here.

This programme booklet will be available in Dutch only.

A maximum of 25 stands are available per day. Applications will be processed in order of application date.
The registration form below and must be completed by July 30th 2026 at the latest. If you’re not able to send the advertising material via the form you can send it to marleen.paping@cellobiennale.nl.

The market
As tradition dictates, the entrance hall and Foyerdeck 1 will once again be transformed into a market featuring everything related to the cello and cello playing. The Cello makers exhibition will open on Friday morning, 30 October 2026.
As in previous editions, the KlankKas will return on the Foyerdeck, where instruments can be played and tested. In addition, there will again be opportunities to use the Kleine Zaal to demonstrate and try out cellos and bows.
It is possible to bring a workbench to work at during the festival. Just let us know before hand if you are going to bring it.

Instrument and bow presentations by exhibitors
During the Biënnale, there will be three presentations of instruments and bows exhibited at the event.
On Sunday 1 November and Saturday 7 November, the cellos of the participating makers will be in the spotlight in the BIMHUIS and the Kleine Zaal. These will be sessions will be played by Giovanni Gnocchi and Victor Julien-Laferrière respectively.
On Tuesday 3 November, the bows will take centre stage in the Kleine Zaal with
