Astrig Siranossian, first prize winner of the International Penderecki Competition, has developed into one of the most remarkable cellists of her generation. She is regularly invited by Daniel Barenboim and has shared the stage with musicians such as Sir Simon Rattle, Martha Argerich, Yo-Yo Ma, Kirill Gerstein, Elena Bashkirova, and Emmanuel Pahud.

As an ambassador for her Armenian heritage, Siranossian effortlessly between the major concert repertoire, chamber music, and projects that bring classical music into dialogue with folk traditions and the singing voice. In 2024, president Emmanuel Macron invited her to perform at the Panthéon during the ceremony marking the interment of the Armenian resistance fighters Missak and Mélinée Manouchian.

She is the artistic director of Les Musicades in Romans-sur-Isère, the Adèle Clément Cello Festival in the Drôme, and the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Festival in Trouville, and founded Spidak Sevane to support children in Armenia and Lebanon through music.

Siranossian was born into a musical family, studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, after which she completed her studies cum laude with Ivan Monighetti in Basel. She currently teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and the École Normale de Musique de Paris – Alfred Cortot.
