Antwerp Symphony Orchestra
Ensemble
The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra is the symphony orchestra of Flanders and Belgium, with the Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp as their home base.
The orchestra was founded in 1955. It enjoyed a long-standing collaboration with Philippe Herreweghe and was later led by chief conductors such as Jaap van Zweden, Edo De Waart, and Elim Chan. The 2026-2027 season is Marc Albrecht’s first season as chief conductor of the orchestra. Its programming spans from Baroque music and romanticism to contemporary repertoire, with a special focus on Flemish musical heritage and the symphonic repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries.
