Intimate concert in the Cello Yurt

During the Cello Biënnale, a Cello Yurt can be found on the terrace of the Muziekgebouw. A traditional, intimate round tent such as the ones used by travelling nomads in Central Asia. The travelling festival cellists Jean-Guihen Queyras, Matthias Bartolomey, Hayoung Choi, Raphael Weinroth-Browne, Alisa Weilerstein, Boris Andrianov, Ivan Karizna, Alban Gerhardt, Quirine Viersen and Giovanni Sollima each put on an exclusive surprise 45-minute long solo concert for a small audience in this Cello Yurt.

Visitors can buy a ticket for one of the concerts, but they don’t know beforehand which cellist will play what and when. The only thing they can be sure of is that it won’t be a Bach suite...
