We already encountered Kian Soltani’s non-classical side in 2020 during his performance at CELLOFEST with the Rembrandt Trio and Kayhan Kalhor, the Iranian master of Kamancheh. For this performance Kian is also bringing Persian friends: percussionist Naghib Shanbehzadeh and oud player Hossein Behroozinia. Traditional Persian sounds of one of the world’s most famous oud players alternate with the more modern improvisations of show man Shanbehzadeh. Add Kian Soltani to the mix and it’s bound to be an evening not to forget.
