Maxim Shalygin - drop after drop by Cello Biennale Quintet

Shocked by the brutal Russian military invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian composer Maxim Shalygin was commissioned by Festivals for Compassion - a collection of more than 55 European festivals on the initiative of Wonderfeel - to compose drop after drop, a 'relay piece' in support of Ukraine. The work has been performed by many musicians at as many festivals in the Netherlands and Europe.

During The Kick-Off of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam on 18 April 2022, drop after drop was performed by the Cello Biennale Quintet, consisting of young soloists: Alexander Warenberg, Ella van Poucke, Lidy Blijdorp, Kalle de Bie and Anastasia Feruleva.
