In ancient times, Thrace was the centre of musical culture not only for Greece but also for many other surrounding countries.
Jean-Guihen Queyras will be bringing together modern and traditional music from the East, Turkey, Armenia, Iran and Western Europe together with kindred spirits – Iranian percussionists Bijan Chemirani and Keyvan Chemirani on zarb and daf and Greek lyra player Sokratis Sinopoulos.
