For months it was uncertain if the biggest cello festival in the world could go on because of the corona virus. But thanks to extra help of our patrons, extra resources from the gouvernment as well as it’s easing the regulations around the virus, and thanks to our collaboration with the NTR – which will film and livestream the entire festival – The Cello Biënnale Amsterdam is officially a go! It will take place from 22 untill 31 October 2020.

The program will as much as possible in accordance with the festival as planned before corona: with concerts, music theater, masterclasses and the National Cello Competition. Performed by musicians, ensembles and orchestras from all over the world.

There will be small modifications. The concerts are a bit shorter, there will be two evening concerts and the peripheral program will take place outside. Of course everything is in accordance with the governmental corona regulations.
