Support
the
Biennale
Surely you’re enthusiastic about the Cello Biennale Amsterdam. You couldn’t imagine it not happening, could you? Then donate to the Cello Biennale. Creating a ten-day long cello festival, offering opportunities to talented young people, presenting concerts given by internationally acclaimed master musicians; all of this becomes possible with your help. Every contribution is most welcome.
Single donation
You can transfer any amount you wish to IBAN: NL07 RABO 0136 2137 31 in the name of Stichting Cello Biennale Amsterdam, Amsterdam, with a mention `gift´. Because we would like thank you personally for your donation, please add your name and email address to the transfer description. It is also possible to make an online donation, via the website.
Periodic donation
Do you want to offer the Cello Biennale some security for its future? Then why not consider an ongoing commitment? This type of gift is tax deductible.
If you are considering an intermittent donation, then please contact Michaël Neuburger by sending an email to Michaël Neuburger.
Casals Circle
De Casals Circle, named after the great cellists Pablo Casals, is formed by friends who support mainly talent development (National Cello Competition and Masterclass programme) and education (Hello Cello) with a periodic gift of at least €1.000,- per year. The members of the Casals Circle meet each other at least twice a year at a house concert offered by the Cello Biennale, or a special event organized by the Biennale.
If you are considering becoming a member of the Casals Circle, please contact Michaël Neuburger by email for more information.

Donation and Taxes
In the past years, enormous financial cuts have been made in culture. In order to compensate for this, a law was passed on January 1, 2012 to support culture in the Netherlands despite these cuts. This law allows you to increase a gift to a cultural institution such as the Cello Biennale by 25% to 125% in your tax return. This means you receive tax advantage over a higher amount of money than the original gift. Giving more means paying less, as the government is contributing to part of your gift.
A practical example:
If you fall under the 42% contribution rate for the payroll taxes (for an income around € 33.500), and you give € 250,-, then your gift will cost you € 119,- in total. If the highest percentage rate is applicable to your income (52% for an income higher than € 55.500,-), then the same gift will cost you only € 88,- in total.
If you donate more than € 5.000,- per year to cultural institutions, then the advantages of this law only apply to the first € 5.000,- you donate.
The Cello Biennale has received the status “charitable institution” (ANBI) from the Belastingdienst (Dutch Tax Authorities). The Cello Biennale Amsterdam is suppported structurally by the local authority in Amsterdam, and is also made possible by contributions from cultural foundations, sponsors, ticket sales, and by gifts of friends and patrons.
