On October 31 the Cello Biennale Amsterdam took over the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. As “Rising Star” of the new generation cellists Kian Soltani put it , the audience saw in a sold out main hall “the whole history and future of the cello in half an hour”.
Kian was one of the cellists who perfomed during the Sneak Preview. Furthermore the audience saw the cellists Ivan Monighetti, Pieter Wispelwey, Anton Mecht Spronk, Annie Tangberg, Emile Visser, the young talent Thomas Prechal and bandoneon player Martin de Ruiter, the Dutch Chamber Orchestra, Slagwerk Den Haag, the Biënnale Band and Austrian jazz-rock band BartolomeyBittmann.
Photographer Ben Bonouvrier made a photo report and filmmaker Darren Carten made a short video compilation.
