The National Cello Competition is an integral part of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam. Talented cellists of Dutch nationality or studying in the Netherlands will have the opportunity to present themselves to an international jury in three rounds. The jury members will be announced during the Sneak Preview on October 31st 2015.

Today the program of the National Cello Competition 2016 is made public! During the qualifying round, first and second round the candidates will play works composed by Boccherini, Ravel, Tchaikovsky and Popper. The candidates may also choose a contemporary work composed after 1970. The commissioned work will be composed by the Dutch composer Rob Zuidam.
Students who wish to participate during the competition must register before May 1st 2016 by using the application form on the website.
