Ashley Bathgate

Cello

Ashley Bathgate is a big name in today’s new music. From 2009 to 2019, she was part of the internationally renowned Bang on a Can All-Stars sextet. At the last Cello Biennale with a live audience, in 2018, she gave four solo concerts at the Tiny House, playing pieces by Michael Gordon. She also played his Industry at the opening concert. She played the premiere of Kate Moore’s cello concerto together with AskoSchönberg in 2014, a collaboration that led to Stories for Ocean Shells, an album with solo pieces composed by Kate Moore.
