Giuseppe Mengoli

Giuseppe Mengoli (1993) started his conducting career at the age of 19 after his leadership qualities as concertmaster in youth and professional orchestras were noticed by renowned conductors. Between 2014 and 2018 he worked as an assistant to Oleg Caetani, John Axelrod, and Valery Gergiev and collaborated with institutions and orchestras such as Real Orquesta Sinfonica de Sevilla, Oslo Opera House, Mariinsky Theatre, LaVerdi Symphony Orchestra, and London Covent Garden. In 2018 he made his debut with the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester in Bad Schandau.
Mengoli also has vast experience as concertmaster and violinist in various orchestras. Mengoli has studied violin, composition, analysis, orchestration, percussion, trumpet, and piano since childhood. As a violinist he won several international competitions. He completed his violin studies with honors and a special mention. Mengoli is currently studying conducting at the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar, accompanied by Nicolás Pasquet. As part of his studies, he regularly conducts orchestras such as the Staatskapelle Weimar, Jenaer Philarmonie, and the Göttinger Symphoniker and he continues to develop a dual career as a conductor and violinist.
