Zlatomir Fung, an American cellist of Chinese-Bulgarian heritage. He started playing the cello at age 3, and later studied with Timothy Eddy and Richard Aaron at the Juilliard School. The latter brought Zlatomir to the 2010 Cello Biennale, where he partook in a masterclass at age 12. He was laureate at many competitions, the highlight of which was his winning first prize at the last Tchaikovsky Cello Competition in 2019. There he was the youngest winner ever, and the first American since Nathaniel Rosen in 1978. His international career has now also started to take off, with him playing in all the major venues of Europe. Zlatomir loves movies, reading, and is a devoted blitz chess player.
