Benjamin Kruithof


Benjamin Kruithof (1999) won the National Cello Competition in 2020. In a Dutch-Luxembourg family of musicians, he started playing the cello at age 5. After some time in the Young Talent Class of the Conservatory of Maastricht, he started his studies with Katharina Deserno and Maria Kliegel in Cologne in 2014. He studies with Jens-Peter Maintz at the University of Arts in Berlin since 2018. After winning the first prize of the National Cello Competition, he played many concerts in the Netherlands, also winning the Enescu Cello Competition in Bucharest. In 2022, Benjamin was nominated for the Opus Klassik award, an important award in Germany.
