Edgar Moreau (Paris, 1994) was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique at the age of thirteen and later studied with Frans Helmerson at the Kronberg Academy. He attended masterclasses with Anner Bijlsma, Miklós Perényi, Gary Hoffman and David Geringas. He won prizes at the Rostropovich Competition 2009 and the Tchaikovsky Competition 2011, won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York in 2014, and two years later received an ECHO Klassik for Giovincello, recorded with the early music specialists of Il Pomo d'Oro. In 2014 he already played at the Cello Biennale, performing Friedrich Gulda’s cello concerto. Edgar Moreau has already released several CDs, his latest, Transmission, is devoted to Jewish culture. Edgar Moreau plays a David Tecchler cello from 1711. His bow is a Dominique Peccate.
