Nicolas Alstaedt, a beloved returning musician in the Biennale, received an Edison in 2017 for his CD Four Cities, which he recorded with Turkish pianist and composer Fazıl Say. In his magnificent Four Cities Sonata, Fazıl Say describes his memories of four Turkish cities. Quirine Viersen and Jacob Ter Veldhuis have admired each other’s work for a long time. Finally, the perfect piece for Quirine has been written for this Biennale!
The tested combination of Schumann and Beethoven is continued by Michel Strauss, French cellist and celebrated pedagogue.
