Early each morning, the Muziekgebouw’s foyer is filled with cello students and fanatics, classical music aficionados, and others simply looking to soak up the atmosphere before they head off to work.
It’s been a fixed item on the menu since the very first edition of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam way back when – a Bach cello suite performed by a different cellist each morning for six days, accompanied by a hot croissant, a cappuccino and a freshly squeezed orange juice.
This year’s edition of Bach&Breakfast is dedicated to ‘The Next Generation’. Six young cellists will be presenting their personal interpretations of the cello gospel according to Bach!
