
Pedro Silva
Pedro Silva (1995, Lissabon) started playing the cello aged eight, with lessons from Luis Sá Pessoa, after which he continued his studies with Pavel Gomziakov and Louise Hopkins. He currently studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Pieter Wispelwey. As a chamber musician he has worked with musicians such as Adrian Brendel, Tatiana Samouil, Natalia Tchitch, Sergey Ostrovsky, Pavel Gomziakov, and the Endellian Quartet. As a member of the Artium Trio he has appeared in major halls across Portugal and on the national radio and television. The Artium Trio recorded their first album on the label KNS, and their second CD, released in 2020, on the label Brilliant Classics. Pedro Silva was the winner of the Virtuoso Belcanto Cello Competition in 2019.
