Benjamin Kruithof (1999) started playing the cello at age five. In 2014 he began his studies at the Conservatory of Cologne with Maria Kliegel and Katharina Deserno, and in 2018 he continued his studies in the class of Jens-Peter Maintz at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. He has also received masterclasses from, among others, Niall Brown, Gustav Rivinius, Daniel Müller-Schott, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, and Gary Hoffmann, and was a participant at the Cello Meisterkurse at the Kronberg Academy in 2018.
Benjamin Kruithof was a prize winner at various competitions including the Knopf Competition, the Leopold Bellan International Competition, the International Flame Competition, the Grand Prix Anne et Françoise Groben, and the Domenico Gabrielli competition in Berlin.
Benjamin Kruithof was a soloist with orchestras such as the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra. He made a tour to China where he performed in numerous halls including the Changsha Concert Hall, Renmin University Hall and the Guangzhou Opera House. In February he recorded his first CD with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie.
