Eline Hensels (1998) studied with Monique Bartels (Amsterdam), Felix Schmidt (Royal Academy of Music, Londen), Alexander Petrasch, and Gustav Rivinius. She is currently studying with Pieter Wispelwey at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf. In 2018, she was the winner of the First Prize as well as the Audience Prize at the National Cello Competition. She was a regional finalist in the Prinses Christina Concours in 2012 as well as 2014, receiving a 1st Prize as well as the Laureate Prize. She was also awarded the ‘Prize of the Limburgs Symfonie Orkest’. In 2015, she was the winner of the ‘Staalbankiersprijs Masterclass’ at the Britten Cello Competition, and subsequently performed as a soloist with the Britten Jeugd Orkest.
Eline has given performances as a soloist with several orchestras including the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Limburgs Symfonie Orkest, and Netherlands Symphony Project.
Eline has received masterclasses from Gustav Rivinius, Marcio Carneiro, Charles Watt, Istvan Vardai, Stephan Forck, Bruno Pasquier, and Emil Rovner. In 2017, she was a participant of the Pablo Casals Academy. Her studies in London were financially supported by an ‘Entrance Scholarship’ from the Royal Academy of Music, as well as scholarships from the Van den Ende Foundation and Fundatie Vrijvrouwe Van Renswoude.
