Charlotte Gulikers (1995) started playing the cello when she was eight years old. In 2009 she was accepted at the Young Talent department at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. There she studied with Lucia Swarts and Dmitri Ferschtman. In 2013 Charlotte started her Bachelor studies with Maarten Mostert at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she graduated in 2018. Currently she studies with Pieter Wispelwey in the master programme of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Since 2015 she follows beside the modern cello also lessons in baroque cello, with teachers Viola de Hoog and Pieter Wispelwey.
Charlotte took part in several masterclasses, a.o. with Colin Carr, Maria Kliegel, Wolfgang Boettcher, Wen-Sinn Yang, Pieter Wispelwey, Melissa Phelps, Filipe Quaresma and baroque cellists Anner Bijlsma, Bruno Cocset and Werner Matzke.
Charlotte has appeared as a soloist with Camerata Amstelveen and with the Viotta Symfonieorkest. She has performed in the National Youth Orchestra several times, and since 2019 she has been a member of the international Theresia Orchestra, an orchestra specialized in classical repertoire, played on authentic instruments. She is a keen player of chamber music, and performs regularly as a duo with her brother (violin).
