Florent Boffard began his piano studies aged only 12 at the Conservatoire in Paris with Yvonne Loriod. He performed at several renowned festivals in Salzburg, Berlin, Bath, Aldeburgh, and La Roque d’Anthéron. As a soloist with the Ensemble Intercontemporain he has worked with major contemporary composers and premiered works by Boulez, Donatoni, and Ligeti. He organises workshops and concert presentations with the aim of bring audiences close to the contemporary repertoire. In 2001, Florent Boffard received the Belmont Prize from the Forberg-Schneider Foundation for his efforts towards contemporary music. He has held teaching positions at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon and the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, and has been a teacher at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris since 2016.
